A law went into effect, and starting yesterday every pig in Europe is entitled to a personal toy. The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs has defined these toys as “manipulable materials,” meaning, basically, anything that can be pushed by a snout. THE GUARDIAN reports that English pigs favor model fire engines, rubber boots, footballs, and chains hung from the ceiling. Failure to comply means a 2,500-pound fine.
